OKIDASHI ZINTRICK

by ADK

NEO GEO MVS NGM-211

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Zintrick is a puzzle game developed by ADK in 1996 that uses sprites that look and act like water droplets. This was one of the key reasons for why it had been initially misidentified as "Droppers". Droppers (by Video System) was a completely different puzzle game, but since it was from roughly the same time period, and because we had no photographic evidence at the time, the game was misidentified.

SNK originally intended to release Zintrick on cartridge format. It was advertized and shown at arcade expos. While it was not displayed at the 1996 ACME show in 1996, it was however released later that same month for the NEOGEO CD system. And although an actual proto cartridge has never been found, the game's rom data was extrapolated and converted to the cartridge format by Jeff Kurtz and subsequently released and made available to the community.

A complete (with sound and music) rom build of Zintrick was finally discovered and confirmed in 2022. It was one of the many protos that RoU had in his collection. Several emulated screen shots and emulated videos were also provided by RoU which clearly showed the fully functional sound and music of the game.
