SPOTLIGHT ON:

THIS NEOGEO DEVELOPER MADE 6 GAMES

GAME 1: SUPER VOLLEY '94 / POWER SPIKES II

Video System released the original Super Volleyball in 1989 as a jamma board. The Sega Genesis and NEC Turbografx received ports of this game in 1990. The second title in the series, also on jamma, was called Super Volley '91 (aka Power Spikes) in 1991. And in 1993, the Super NES saw the release of Hyper V-Ball. This final game in the series was initially called Super Volley '94, but was quickly changed to Power Spikes II.

GAME 2: AERO FIGHTERS 2 / SONIC WINGS 2

Their second release was also a sequel to another previous jamma board from 1992 called Aero Fighters / Sonic Wings. The Super NES received a port of this game in 1993. The sequel was then developed on NEOGEO hardware in 1994.

GAME 3: SONIC WINGS 3 / AERO FIGHTERS 3

AF2 was a big success and so Video System quickly developed another sequel, again on the NEOGEO hardware in 1995.

GAME 5: DROPPERS

A puzzle game developed by Video System sometime in 1995 and intended to be released in early 1996. The game was initially shown at the February 1996 Japan AOU Show. And other than a single screenshot captured at the show by Game Machine Magazine which was published 2 months later in April, the game was never seen or discussed again.

GAME 6: POP 'N BOUNCE / GAPPORIN

The final NEOGEO release from Video System was an arkanoid type brick breaking game called Pop 'n Bounce in the USA and Gapporin in Japan.

Former Aero Fighters / Video System staff created PSIKYO in 1992 and developed another successful vertical shooter series called Strikers 1945, which later appeared on NEOGEO hardware.
