SAURUS DEVELOPED AND RELEASED 9 NEOGEO GAMES

GAME 1: QUIZ KING OF FIGHTERS

The first game that SAURUS developed for the NEOGEO was actually the third QUIZ variety game for the system and it was released in 1995. It was based on the popular King of Fighters series, and was named as such, but it actually contained characters from several other SNK games such as Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Samurai Showdown, and World Heroes. It was released on both MVS and HOME cartridge but only in JAPAN.

Was this the LAST soft box home cart released?

GAME 2: STAKES WINNER

Later in 1995, SAURUS would release a unique horse racing game called Stakes Winner. This title was released on both formats and in both regions.

GAME 3: RAGNAGARD / SHINOKEN

This game SUCKS! Hands down the WORST fighter on the NEOGEO.

Released on both MVS and HOME cartridge but the HOME cart was JAPAN only.

GAME 4: PLEASURE GOAL / FUTSAL

The 8th soccer game for the NEOGEO system. Different in the sense that it utilizes a 5 on 5 match within the confines of a much smaller gameplay area, usually housed in doors. Futsal is an actual real life sport that is played by pro players.

Some of the background advertisements in the game mention Ironclad Brikinger which was their next release, but would mysteriously be limited to the NEOGEO CD system. Neither MVS or HOME carts were officially manufactured.

This next title was shown at multiple arcade expos and heavily advertised for release on MVS but mysteriously never was. It would eventually be released for the NEOGEO CD home console system.

GAME 5: IRONCLAD / BRIKINGER

An incredibly well made side scrolling shooter with branching paths and multiple endings. Absolutely NO REASON why it shouldn't have been released.

GAME 6: STAKES WINNER 2

After the success of the original in 1995, SAURUS released a follow up sequel in 1996. This one would be released on MVS in both regions, but the HOME cart was limited to the JAPAN region.

This next title was released on a regular NEOGEO MVS cartridge, but was only intended for use on a motherboard with a special BIOS installed. It was issued a standard sequential NGM number.

GAME 7: THE IRRITATING MAZE

This release was limited to special dedicated arcade cabinets that housed a standard neogeo MVS motherboard but with a special BIOS which allowed the game to work with a TRACKBALL controller.

GAMES 8 AND 9: SHOCK TROOPERS AND SHOCK TROOPERS 2

Excellent action shooter games that resembeled the Metal Slug series but with an overhead three quarter perspective rather than side scrolling.
